Helena Street Solar

Helena Street Solar (3.25 kW)

  • Location of project:  2018 Helena St, Madison WI 53704
  • Description and History of Solar Project: Our first local solar project was installed where Sustainable Atwood’s office was originally located–2018 Helena Street in the Schenk-Atwood-Starkweather-Yahara neighborhood, Madison, WI. This project was made possible through peer-to-peer solar loans. Five individuals loaned the funds to capitalize the array. The loans are being paid off over 10 years which allows for positive cash flow and includes tax benefits taken by the owners of the building. Over $600 of energy savings were realized in the first year!
  • Number of Solar Panels: 13 panels, each 250 Watts
  • Energy Produced: The 3.25 Kilowatt array will produce an average of 9.35 kWh per day over each year. 13 Helios modules, each capable of 250 Watts of power.

Purchase solar energy from this project through our Switch-to-Solar program
